Kaitlin Hannon
Syracuse University
Kaitlin is currently in her second year at Syracuse University and started her college career at SUNY Oswego. She is majoring in Civil Engineering and plan on graduating in May 2010. Kaitlin has interned with the NYSDOT Structures Unit in Syracuse where she assisted on a large bridge rehabilitation project on I-81 in downtown Syracuse. She also works in recreation services at SU and volunteers with special needs children. She is currently on the SU Division 1 swim team and her other interests include photography and running.
Emily Traversi
Rochester Institute of Technology
Emily is in the fourth year of her five year program at RIT. She is majoring in Civil Engineering Technology and has been on the dean’s list every quarter. This past spring and summer, she was an intern with Bergmann in Rochester where she was heavily involved with significant rehabilitation projects on the Grand Island Bridges and on the Hudson Crossing historic bridge in Poughkeepsie. She is active in a number of community organizations, served on the RIT Concrete Canoe team, and is the captain of the RIT soccer team. Emily has also received scholarships from ACEC, AGC, and the Nathaniel Rochester Society.
Christopher Laporta
Rochester Institute of Technology
Chris is currently in his junior year at RIT in the Civil Engineering Technology program. Chris began studying at Erie Community College where he earned an associates degree (with distinction) in Civil Engineering Technology. At ECC, he served as the student chapter president of APWA, and is a student member of ABCD and ASCE. This past summer, he worked as an intern with Monroe County DOT where he performed a variety of duties including stormwater outfall inspection and mapping. Chris also enjoys skiing, golf and tennis.
