Buffalo Area Model Bridge Contest Results
The Buffalo are Balsa Wood Bridge Competition was held February 25, 2010 at the Classics V Banquet Center.
A near record turn-out of 50 bridges represented by 113 students from 6 area high schools participated. Bridge design and construction were outstanding having trusses and girder style with excellent workmanship.
The top place finishers who were awarded trophies:
- First Place: The Gow School – Rory Castroiovanni and Evan Nord
- Second Place: John F. Kennedy HS – Bryan Szegda
- Third Place: North Tonawanda, HS – Ryan Merriott, John Scozzafava and Will Swart
Special thanks goes to Ralph Abate for another year of testing and critiquing the bridges. In addition ABCD had the support of several volunteers to judge, test and weigh the bridges and helped keep the students moving and entertained.
