Association for Bridge Construction and Design - Western New York Chapter

The collapse of the I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota focused scrutiny on all bridges and greatly affected public confidence in the safety of deck truss bridges. At the time of the collapse the City of Rochester, New York was in the midst of a planned rehabilitation of the Smith Street Bridge, a 780-ft long deck truss bridge spanning the Genesee River.

The Association for Bridge Construction and Design would like to welcome everyone to attend our March Luncheon Meeting featuring a presentation on the rehabilitation project. The presentation will reflect upon the project to help bridge owners and engineers understand how to undertake a rehabilitation project that will result in a safe bridge which will continue to serve a community's transportation needs for many years. All members, non-members, potential new members and students are invited.
